The Hula Peppers

The Hula Peppers play 20s, 30s and Hawaiian music, reminiscent of R Crumb & the Cheap Suit Serenaders. The band features swing, blues, and novelty tunes from the golden age of the 78rpm. The Hula Peppers are Dan "Daddy Squeeze" Newton on accordion, Gary Powell on Hawaiian guitar, Dave Furniss on resonator guitar, and Corey Mohan on ukuleles and musical saw. They are often joined by chanteuse Lauren Asheim, who's operatic training and Betty Boop-like delivery enhances the group's performance.
